Question Legit or Scam? What do you think?

Have my 928 on here and Craigslist... Been answering a ton of emails etc... Got an email from a young lady asking if it was still available and I returned the email answering her yes, that it was still available... this is her second email, what do you think.....?

Thanks for your response. I am okay with the price and conditions. I would have come to see it, but i am a very busy person and i am out of the States for now. I will make Payment to you via Certified/Cashiers check and i understand it must clear your bank before you release the item to me. I will also be responsible for the pick up and shipping of the item.
So, all you will be doing as soon as you get the payment check is to get it cashed, deduct your money for the item and send the rest to my shipper, whose names and address will be enclosed in the envelope of the check, so that they can come for the pick up of the item at your residence.
I hope i can trust you with my money? because i dont want to be scammed again.
If this is okay by you, please get back to me with your ....
Names, Full contact address(City, State and Zipcode) and your Phone Number.
Get back to me asap so that i can issue out the payment check to you via UPS next day delivery. Kindly remove the item from site so that no one will contact you for it.
Regards.

Whatever money you send to her "shipper" is exactly how much cash you will lose when her check bounces. Tell her you want to hold her check for 21 days to clear. Same old stuff over and over...

I'd carry thru with the deal. Have her send you the check and take it to the bank. Don't deposit it. You already know it's no good. have your bank stamp it "NSF" or however they designate bag checks and then list it on e-bay. Those bogus checks are going for big money on there.

Okay so most agree it is a scam, I was thinking it coulda been legit because she was going to send a certified cashiers check, and she said she knew it needed to clear my bank before the car could be released to her shipper.... If I do deposit the check and hold the car till it clears then I am okay right? I will not release the car, retrieve any funds or pay a shipper until the check is cleared from my bank...??? I have several other looking at the car so I am not really motivated to jump onto a scam, but at the same time I do not want to blow someone off that may be legit....

My only suggestion is that you string her along, and then get the check, and then open a new account to deposit it into.

Or, if you've been corresponding via e-mail, then suggest PayPal, just to see what kind of cock-eyed response you get.

It is a scam. Read the email. It says "item" not car. It is a standard email "she" sends to every one selling anything from a lawn mower to an RV. Doesn't even take the time to edit it.

You can search the internet on this scam - it is the most common scam aside from advance wire fraud.

Mr. Nigerian Banker, I just lost my Certified, Bonded, Guaranteed, Written in Blood Cashiers Check. Please stop payment on it immediately. It may have fallen into the hands of a filthy American automobile scammer who will try to cash it soon.

And that's if it's real check, not just ginned up on photoshop.

Can take two weeks at least for the buyers check to "really" clear.

Your bank, wanting to provide you with good service will pre-clear it in a week.

The scammer will cash your good check and disappear.

When your bank finally figures out buyers check is bad they come after you for the money they gave you.

Thats the scam.

My bank, BofA, charges a fee if I have a check returned for any reason. You'll get a fee just to find out the check you already know is bad is bogus. I can think of better ways to burn $15 or $20 bucks.

There's the key that it's a scam.

If you want to waste some time, why not offer to give the "shipper" cash when they come pick up the car? Since there is no real shipper, they will come up with some reason that's not acceptable, and try to get you to send the shipping money off somewhere.

These people are always either 1) very busy (scamming others) 2) out of the country (scamming there) or 3) both

Whenever the money details are mostly what they talk about rather than the actual item for sale.....scam.

If they refer to it as 'the item' you know it is a scam.

These checks often take more than 7 days to process. They look totally authentic and fool many banks. I'd wait at LEAST 3 weeks. Under NO circumstances send any money elsewhere.

I am 100% sure this is a scam. In fact, I am reluctant to sell any car anymore, unless it is to someone I know. Last car I sold through a dealer, another through a friend that does car leases, so they checked out the funds before selling.

If you really want to find out if it's a scam (I'm sure it is) ask her if she wants it shipped with the Nascar Wheels or the Ford Wheels, or test her Porsche knowledge in some way, and see the response.....
