has anyone used greyhound for shipping parts?
or recommend a shipper for shipping 914 hoods?

I had a hood shipped to me through greyhound. It was damaged but the pair the estimate to have it repaired. It all depends on the shipper whether or not it gets damaged. It was cheaper to ship through them than anyone else. I have had good luck with stuff I packaged and shipped.

I've shipped 3 early 911 hoods via Greyhound and all came through OK. But an early fender I shipped recently was clearly abused.

for a 914 hood, get 6 of the squarish USPS Priority Mail boxes, seal them, cut them half way up and halfway through and insert each corder of the hood into a box. tape the boxes to the hood if new owner is going to repaint anyway. Then wrap the whole hood in cardboard. if you can't get sheets, Uhaul has some great boxes (wardrobe, mirror) that can be cut and used.

Following other's suggestions, I used Greyhound to ship a 911 rear deck lid and a tail (separate occasions), and packed them very well so there were no issues (based upon buyers' replies). The bus terminal was close to where I worked, and of course, the buyers had to go to the terminal on their end to pick them up, but the price was right and I/we had no issues whatsoever. Great for large items imo...

Here's one vote for NOT using Geryhound....

There is a rollbar for a 911 on a Greyhound somewhere. God knows where it is, but it's not wherer it's supposed to be. And Greyhound can't locate it...
