Zero CC debt

After many lunches of oatmeal et al, but we've done it. The only debt is the house and one car. The eldest is paid out till she graduates. The other two, well I hope one marries well and the other stays out of jail!

What if one marries in jail?

We're working on ours. It's not very much, but still hard to pay down.

What's 'cool chick' debt?

Congrats on your accomplishment!
We're working on that goal as well.

No CC debt, no car payments here. We'll have the mortgage paid off in the next 2-3 years. Can't wait!

Congratulations! I did this too earlier in the summer. Most liberating feeling ever.

No CC debt for over a year. If we need to carry it on the CC, we (I) won't buy it. Never again!!! I hope.

We have no CC debt and our home equity loan is gone. Only our main mortgage and my car loan.

I have never had credit card debt that was not paid off the next month. For the first time in over 8 years, last month our check arrived one day late due to mail and they nicked me for $120. I cancelled the card when they would not reverse the charges after telling me how much of a valued customer I was.

Our small micro-eco-cosim is a testimony of the way things should become - we can have cool stuff we just have to sacrifice from time-to-time, work hard now-and-then and vote for Johnny Mac!

I've found that I have enough other debt (student loan, car payment, etc) that I don't really need anything that badly that I need to use the CC to buy it. I use it for fuel and the random purchase that I don't want to use my debit for. Then it gets paid off every month.

Probably should have left the account open but cut-up the cards. Would have been better for your FICO score.

We made double payments on the house for many years until we recently paid it off, buy nothing but used cars with cash and always pay the cc off at the end of the month. Of course I happen to love living in a 40 yr old plain jane house and driving 5-30 yr old german cars all the while knowing that losing my job would not be the end of the world.

Just a mortgage here for the last 3 years. No car loans, no CC debt.

Never had CC debt, never will. If I can't afford to write a check, I won't buy it (exception being house and cars). CC is just a convenient way to get around, and keep track of all my expenditures.
