what do hardcore smokers do on long airplane flights?

i spent some time with a good friend last weekend. he is full on addicted. first thing, last thing in the day is to go out for a smoke. what do you guys do on long flights?

What's a long flight?

I can go a day if I need to. I sleep on flights if I can't smoke. Going to Germany was a bit more annoying, but it woulda been an annoying flight even if I didn't smoke.

I haven't had a cigarette in over a month, but when I was really into it (maybe 1/2 pack a day), a long flight didn't really bother me. I've done two round trips to China from the east coast at 16 hrs. each way. They weren't so bad. BTW, I read somewhere there's a new airline that's for smokers and no kids allowed. I think it only flies between Germany and Japan. Man, I would love to try them out.

I am a pack-a-day kind of person ... in long flights I just simply don't smoke, use Nicorette or anything else .. you cannot smoke so I don't smoke. Does not bother me at all. Will I prefer to smoke in the plane ... sure.

I've tried that a few times and it didn't even make me drowsy. If I can sleep three hours on an overseas flight, I'm overjoyed.

Ambien doesn't do a thing to me. I've had it for my last three overseas trips. I can actually feel it going to work. It feels like a few bursts of something in my blood and then I just hover on the edge of sleep for a short while before I get woken up or frustrated and resign myself to being awake for the rest of the way. Last time in China a friend gave me a Xanax which knocked me out in the hotel. So I took on on the flight home. Didn't do a thing. Then I tried some Ambien and the mixture made me vomit.

on the plane, ive tried the patch, prescription nicotine inhaler....no help. it doesnt help that im terrified of flying. all i wanna do on the plane is smoke because of the paranoia. luckily ambien knocks me out in a matter of 5 or 10 minutes.. problem is that if you dont fall asleep, it will keep you up. there is a small window of opportunity for it to work it seems

I took my first ride in a helo yesterday and I really wanted a smoke after that one. I was fine when were cruising at about 700 ft. for 10 min. Once we got over the Grand Canyon and added another 6500 ft. to that alt., I was jonesing. Didn't help that everyone else at the airport were Euro tourists and smoking. I saw a guy with a pack of Gauloise Blondes and was almost moved to go bum one from him.

And the new fruit chill stuff is really tasty! I quit for 6 months last year and did pretty well. However, I had to switch to the mint from the fruit just because I loved the fruit flavor so much.

But, yes, I will have a pack of Nicorette for the plane ride to Germany next month.
