i use a camelbak with the hose running down my sleeve, just like i did in high school. :-)

living in a part of NY where the only way to get around is by car, i do not bring my own bottle because, ill either be tempted to drink the entire bottle and then drive...or else take the open bottle in the car, which i do not like to do

when i lived in NYC and i walked everywhere, taking a bottle in was great fun

I always take a bottle of Night Train to The Four Seasons in New York. And as it has a screw top - I refuse to pay any corkage fee!
