new EBAY SCAM

it may or may not be new, but it is the first time i have seen this one.

first, someone stole my wife's ebay account several years ago and listed some items for sale under her name, so, she just got an email from someone on ebay (andrews92122) saying they paid for a PSP3 and had not gotten the item and that they were going to call the FBI.
when i clicked on the URL for the listed item it took me to a sign in page for EBAY and not thinking at the moment i typed in her ID and password, even though we had just logged in a few minutes earlier. then it took me to a confirm it is me page and i realized what i had done.
i pulled up the tab that we had open for ebay and changed her password so i think we are safe.

andrews92122 does not exists nor does the item number

be careful

I got the same email for the same PsP item! When it brought me to the sign in page I x'd out as I thought it was a phishing email.

Thanks for verifying that this email is bogus and for the warning.

Unfortunately this is not new. I have received several of these over the years. No matter the subject, always navigate to the main webpage of the subject matter, sign in and do your research from there. Also, hit reply to the message and note the email address. It will most likely have nothing to do with ebay or will be misspelled, a dead give away that it is a scam.

YMMV

yea, i am usually pretty alert to the scam stuff but since her account was stolen before and she just had a virus on her computer at work i figured it was stolen again and clicked before thinking.
