string a bunch of bad work days together..how do you prevent burnout?
OMG!
first off, i love my gig. just the past 3 weeks have been horrible. what do you seasoned work veterans do for mental relaxation? for the first time in 10 years, i am feeling burnt out. yoga? meditation? medication? booze? cardio boxing? |
Set aside an hour (preferably two) per day to do an enjoyable, high-intensity physical activity. For me lately it's been cycling although I also do running and/or swimming. The endorphin "high" helps you and relaxes you like nothing else. Vastly improves your mental clarity and state of mind.

I cook.
I work in a field that is not very creative and where a particular task can take years to accomplish completely. It's nice to go home and 1) do something sort of creative which is entirly different from my work, and 2) that I can start from scratch and see to completion in an hour or so. That and exercise. A run always clears my head....and makes the big meal guilt free too. |
