I (heart) Arnold.

Because he's got sack. He's vetoing the CA state budget being proffered before him by our do-nothing bunch of imbeciles in the state ASSembly.

Basically after 2-1/2 months of finger pointing and partisan bickering they've "compromised" on a drunken-sailor spending plan that (among other things) allows them to raid the previously voter-approved earmarked bond fund for new school construction to fund their ineptitude.

BRAVO to this guy for standing up for some principles!

They'll undoubtedly spin this to make him look like the obstructionist/bad guy, but the fact of the matter is that Arnold has a pair and they're mistaken to think he'll cave because he's "over a barrel" politically or whatever.

We need more of this from government.

(sorry if this crosses into the realm of PARF - if it needs to be moved there, so be it - I just couldn't contain my excitement about this!)

LOL, i haven't read the entire buget proposal but heard that one of the d-rat ideas was to increase the rate of state tax with-holding (increase the tax rates) on businesses in the state, and then give it back at the end of the fiscal year. Basically borrowing from the businesses to run the state. Talk about living on their credit cards.

Can't say any more until this gets moved to the political forum.

Arnold may be studying what happened to Pataki in New York.

Who won as a conservative (small c), republican governor in a democratic state. And proceeded to throw away any and all credibility to remain popular in the press and hang on to office.

A yellow bellied, gutless, wimp.

can we elect him here in NJ? he is what WE need in the WORST way..him or Ventura

Please don't disrespect drunken sailors. Drunken sailors spend their own money.

Arhnold can kiss my fat white arsh!

He had line item veto but was too lazy so just dumped the whole budget.

We are now going on month four (?) without a state budget.

I sure he will drop a couple of sound bites from one of his movies and all will be forgiven.

berettafan 09-17-2008 12:09 PM

is it possible that he wanted to send a message and put the onus (did i use that word right? it sounds dirty) on the legislature?

Let me get this straight. You love Arnold because of his sack? Too much information there!

Veto mean to remove or disallow. You can't veto something that isn't there, as in missing.
The budget had all kinds of crap in it he could have vetoed but it would still be missing the reform. the things that will keep this from getting worse every single year.
The party in control has done that and will continue to do that. The reason this has drug on so long is because the minority party is standing it's ground and saying NO MORE!

Tobra 09-17-2008 09:18 PM

that is exactly it

The Governator did the right thing for a change, nice

based on him overall, Ahnald is the only hope for the Republican party.

I used to like Romney but he went wild & crazy at the Conv. (to get any base votes lying around in the coming wreckage, I guess) so he now gets a not trustworthy label

If he had sack he would deliver on his promise to reign in or eliminate specific regulatory environmental agencies that are duplicated throughout the state. He is not the savior that he is posing to be.

onewhippedpuppy 09-18-2008 04:36 AM

He's faced aliens, robots and armies of men carries automatic weapons. What makes you think he's scared by a bunch of CA libs?:D
