Cincinnati, Ohio-Things to Do/See

The wifey and I are going there next Thursday through Monday to visit my sister. It also coincides with my 25th Anniversary. Sister lives in Covington, Ky. Any recommended things to do/see, good places to eat? We're all in our early 50s. If I need a break, anyone want to get together for a beer?

you'll be close to "kings island" which is just north of cincy, an older amusement park with a slightly smaller eiffel tower replica, the beast (one of the best wooden coasters of all time).......and other rides.....i haven't been there in years but it's the same old park from what i've heard

Hugh,
Do you have any business planned for Michigan in the coming months?

Apparently, the Mid-Michigan area is the new filming mecca.

There is a crew this weekend at the Renaissance Festival doing some filming.

Wayne:

No we have no filming plans in Michigan at the moment. Although that may change, your state is offering "Stupid generous" tax breaks for movies. We just finished up a TV pilot in Detroit call Prince of Motor City. But I wasn't involved in that one.

It'a beautiful town, especially if you stay near the river. Walking by the river and goig to a ballgame is always nice.

But if the wife's up for it, I would strongly recommend going to the national Air Force museum in Dayton Ohio. It's an easy day trip. I did it a few years ago with my boys and my uncle who is a retired Air Force officer. It was a very special trip. Every airplain you can imagine. Simulators, the whole nine yards.

These both are great suggestions, the the reds are away after this monday (tom.). If your a baseball fan you could go through the reds hall of fame, but I think its like $10.

You two could probably go to the air force museum every day and still not see everything. I enjoy driving around the outside where you can sometimes see a plane or 2 come in or take off.

Hugh,

If you like ribs, try the Montgomery Inn. I believe they have a location on the river.

A day at the AF museum is never enough.... especially if you enjoy reading the plaques and info at each display.

Jeff Ruby's downtown is a great steakhouse with a great scene. Oceanaire downtown is really good seafood. Nichola's is great italian (just make sure the doors to the car are locked on the way down there). I have a good sushi place but its outside the city over the Kentucky state line.

The VW/Porsche reunion is 9/28 at GE Park on the north side. I'll be there. The Pub (restaraunt/pub) in Crestview Hills, KY has very good food with good beer at a very reasonable price. Hofbrauhaus in Newport is also very good and they brew their own beer. PM me if you want to do the reunion and then get a beer at the Pub afterwards.
