Help!!! BMW E46: Help can't bleed clutch!

Thought I would flush the clutch system. Used a turkey baster to suck the fluid out of the master cylinder. Like a dummy I didn't refill it, although I could still see fluid down in there. Hooked up my motive power bleeder and pumped up to 20 lbs. But can't get any fluid to go through the lines. I even unhooked the rubber clutch line from the hard line that goes to the slave cylinder and still no fluid comes out. Clutch pedal is completely dead. I know the line is not collapsed because I can run a small wire up in it. What did I do wrong and what can I do to fix it? I can open a brake line and the motive bleeder works just fine on that. Help!

I know you're talking about the clutch and not the brakes but according to Mike Miller, if you've introduced air into the ABS system then it's off to the dealer and a hook-up to their GT-1 to bleed the system (I just asked him about this in fact). I've been bleeding my 325i for years with a pressure bleeder and always worry about getting air into the system somehow (knock on wood).
Sorry I couldn't be more help...

Damn Kurt I hope this is not the problem!

Actually it looks like it is two separate systems. I think I just can't get the air out of the clutch master cylinder which is down by the clutch pedal. I think I may have to remove it and bench bleed it.

Well I removed the clutch master cylinder and something, not sure what, was plugging it up as all the hydraulic lines are clear and can flow fluid. I thought it might be a piece of crud so I tried using compressed air to clear the plug, but all I managed to do was blow out the seals. I say this because now fluid just runs freely thru it after I hooked it up. I probably ran a good quart of fluid through the fill reservoir and out thru the slave cylinder bleed valve. Wayne looks like you are getting some business!

I'm sure glad I was wrong!

Me too! :D But I will be extra careful when I bleed the brakes to make sure there is plenty of fluid in the master cylinder. Even the Bentley manual says to take it to the dealer if the brake master cylinder runs dry.
