Can anyone recommend a decent toilet/bow?

Well, a lot you may not appreciate a crapper! Unfortunately with me, it is one of the few areas where I can be alone, read, etc.

Anyone recommend one? What is the latest with the water-wise units? Do you need to flush it twice?

Oh, and if the unit would come with a water-sprayer, that would be awesome. My baby-butt is a virgin and still enjoys a good water wash, each time and every-time.

Thanks.

Toto Gmax. One piece toilet. No need to look anymore. We don't install others in clients' home. You could get the one with the jets and the heated seats for your baby butt. Go for the elongated seat if you have the room. Your ding-go-ling will thank you for it. Talk to those guys at Plaza Kitchen and Bath off the 101 in 1000 Oaks. I buy lots of high end pluming fixtures from them. Solid guys.

Toto. Best upgrade to my house was tossing the A/S and replacing with a TOTO.

Get one with pressurized flush and goes WOOSH every time you flush. No way you can plug it.

So, can someone educate me on the difference between 1-piece and 2-piece units? From an installation standpoint, obviously the 2-piece would be easier.

Thanks.

The best for the money is a no-brainer, American standard champion 4.
Around $225 and you cannot clog it.
No more plungers, ever. No more double flushed ever. It will flush 18 golf balls, or 40 feet of double ply paper, it just doesn't clog and it is quiet.

I saw the 'show' so I believe him. The issue though is.....would the actual pipes "after" the toilet accommodate the golf bowls.

No it wouldn't. A single piece is bowl and tank in one piece of china. there is no connection with dumb gasket or rubber rings between tank and bowl, therefore no chance of leaks. One thing you have to remember if you do buy a Toto, you must bleed the line before you hook it up to the tank. Is not the big pieces the will hurt it, its the small little pieces of crap in the line that can get stuck in the smaller flapper on top of the float valve. It can be clean, but another pain in the butt. If you buy the heated seat with the jets, get the remote control ones so you can mount it on the wall and not have to twist your body to access the buttons. You also need a plug near by. Chance are you don't have one there. good luck. BTW, do not buy those cheap, I want to say import ( I assume Chinese or Taiwan made) but so are Toto, electric seat.

Stay away from the dual flush stuff. My very last client demanded that they will have one of those and nothing else. Big time tree hugger with lots of money, recycle this that and the other. Proj ended up 25 % more. The wife's rethinking a regular one. Someone else's $hit or pee isn't all gone.

I am getting educated on a lot of manufacturers, especially Toto. I never realized that TOTO is good old U.S.A.

I had always assumed that the best manufacturer would be Japanese given that the 'restroom' is treated like a heaven.

There was video on these demonstrations on their website last year, not sure if they are still there. They also cut up a rubber hose into 2" segments and flushed it, these things don't clog.

Ah here it is. http://www.americanstandard-us.com/tools/bestflush/default.aspx

click on flushing system in action to see the video.
After I installed one of these I told a co-worker about it, he bought one too and says the same thing, you can't clog it. IIRC he paid close to $250 for his, guess I got a deal at $225 at home depot.

We have 2 low-boy style Kohler one-piece toilets that we like, very efficient, if you know what I mean...

My 8 yo is very thorough with her paperwork. We bought one of these and have never had to plunge it. The previous toilet had to be plunged almost daily.
