6-8% cd

Where to get a good high interest bearing CD for say, 10k? I'd like to get something around 6-8% for 5yrs or less.

Thanks in advance!

Highest I've found is 5.0% @ WaMu for a 5 yr., but not sure how long they're going to be around...

WAMU has the highest rate at 4.89% Would you trust your cash with WAMU?

Yowza. If there is someone offering an 8% CD, lets hear about it because I'm dumping a hell of a lot more than $10k into it.

Alas....tis a mythical beast....

GMAC is doing 5% for 5 years.

Highest I have seen currently is 5.17%

Here is a good place to search:

Ha! I was a minute behind you!

Um, everybody would like an investment like that. Let me know where abouts you find one. If it's in a dark alley from a guy named "Vinny" passing paper from the back seat of a Cadillac, I'll pass.

I found that one (WAMU) but was a little nervous about it.

Bankaholic looks like a good site.

That GMAC doesn't look bad.

I figured I was asking too much but never done a CD before. Thought I'd try something new. So please direct me like a newbie!

Yep...and look how quickly the rate dropped!

What about this 'onbank' one? Looks promising....

I was going to advise you to "make sure its FDIC insured!", but of course the FDIC is soon going to have its employees turning tricks to raise funds......

This thread is worthless without pics of people laughing.

How about this flingpot? (BTW mis-spelling was intentional)
