Another cool diesel from Audi...

300+ pounds of torque
6-speed
0-60 = 6.6 seconds
40+ MPG

*Sadly, I doubt you'll see it in the U.S.

I'm sure there's a lot of Audi love building up. Tim, Jim, Bueller?

It does look cool.

I hit a 6"x6" piece of lumber on the 5 fwy last week and jammed the electric fan on my A3. I had it towed off the freeway and talking with the tow truck driver, asked about the frequency of Audis breaking down. He told me mine was the first A3 he had hooked up. In 5 years of working the 5,118, north 405, 210 and 134 fwys he had towed approx 3 A4s, 6 A6s and numerous A8s.
I asked him of all newer cars both foreign and domestic which broke down the most. He said without a doubt BMW by far was what he got the most calls for.

Craigster - how do you like the A3? How's it handle, perform, etc.?

Without the boy racer paint I'd be happy to make that my commuter car.

No problems as long as 6x6 "chock blocks" don't fly off of trucks . It's an '06, bought new and I've put 106k on it so far with no problems. The 2.0 turbo is great around town, it's small but seats 4 comfortably and the hatchback works out great. I'd get another one but for now will just drive this till it dies. As you can tell (106k in 3 years) I drive a lot and it's great on gas (about 22 city, 28 hwy)

Similar thoughts about my A3. Comfortable for 4 (5 if one or more is a kid) with nice leather interior and great aesthetics. It will haul arse when you need it (I've lapped it at Streets before), and I can fit all my bass gear without any issues. I'm at 32K miles with only one shop visit since buying it with 13K miles (CEL, fixed under warranty).
