PPI score reference

Looking for a reference or some established descriptions assigned to the 1 through 5 scores seen on most PPI forms. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd be unsatisfied with a PPI that simply rates things with "1-5" values. Who knows what standards the particular shops have?

I like to see a proper description for anything that seems sub-par. IE: "front bushings starting to wear, shocks a bit soft but passable"

Best PPI I ever got was for my e300d. They guys spent 3 hours on it and wrote a novella about the car. It gave me a great overall sense for the condition of the car; really important with an a long-distance purchase. When I actually picked up the car, it was a bit better than I expected.

One of my more frustrating experiences was when I arranged the PPI for the Carrera my father was buying. The shop came recommended by pelicans, and I'm sure they do great work, but the PPI was an excercise in poor communication. $400 and they were spending more time dealing with the PO, and sent a simple checklist of items plus the leakdown results. On the phone, they described things in more detail, but it was a real chore to get them to write it all out. Probably would have been great in-person, but dealing with them long distance was not confidence inspiring.
