Oakland Raider fans: How do you deal with your train wreck of an organization?

As a Steeler lifetime fan, the Raiders were one of the chief nemesis of the Steelers back in the 70's. Tons of colorful characters. What went (or has been going) wrong? Ever since the tuck rule fumble giving the Patriots there first SB appearance, the club has been sliding fast. I guess if someone owns the company, you can't tell them what to do with it. So what have you lifelong Raider fans been doing? Waiting for the cryptkeeper to kick and new owners to come in? What an embarrassment.

I was a Raider fan through the 70s, 80s and 90s. I have slowly weined myself away (although they are still my favorite team) and am starting to like the 49ers as their currently (up until last week at least) QB went to the same school I did.

I've almost weined myself. I'm a HUGE Jags fan ever since Maurice Jones-Drew played with my son at De La Salle High School. I used to really try to defend Al Davis, since he seemed to know what he was doing for so long. I think he's lost it completely. Spending what they spend on skill positions without a dime for an O-line has convinced me they haven't got a clue. McFadden has already been chipped and is playing through pain. When they start protecting the backfield and opening some holes, they'll be back on the right path. Until then, GO JAGS!

Al Davis should be forced to either step down or sell the team. He is a disgrace to the NFL.

I agree. He's been a travesty to a dynasty I really enjoyed watching every season. It's funny, the San Diego (Super)Chargers are getting more coverage in LA-LA, than der Raiders.

I don't think they can make him step down as owner. They might be able to make him sell the team but Davis would die long before the lawsuits were over.

What they could do is force him to stop interfering in the coaching decisions on the field and make him just be a luxury box owner. You could make a case that his meddling with the Raiders constantly is detrimental to the value of the NFL as a whole and by extension the other owners.

All I know is Davis makes me happy we've got Jerry Jones. Any that takes ALOT.

If Davis sold the team I would be at a loss...

L.A. doesn't need a team... any team that is playing the Raiders is our team!

And what is up with the Raiders having their own commentators for the preseason games? It is like watching a three hour Raiders promo.

Davis will be gone someday. Can't be too soon. And then, he tries to fire Kiffin for cause (and not pay the rest of the contract). Would be funny if nobody wants to coach the team, or asks for $20mil signing bonus then $250K/yr for 2 yrs......

why is it wrong for an owner to fire a losing coach thats actions are detrimental to the team? from what I saw, Kiffin wanted out long ago, so much that he was interviewing after half a season. had a leg up on Petrino for the Razorback gig forcing him to quit after 13 games.
