So - the internet is a small place!
Tonight I was browsing over on the Garage Journal board forums I frequent http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/ and saw a post where someone referred to a homemade tool cabinet. I clicked on the link that led to a welding forum (weldingweb.com) and took a look at the guy's welding and metalworking handiwork. Out of curiosity, I browsed a few other posts on the site.
I'll give you one guess on which Pelican member posted on 3/31/2006 about a rocker panel repair on a '71 911? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1223174674.jpg |

Milt, aka: Zeke just like his avatar says.
Now google that and see what happens? Try googling your own name. Pelican is huge! |
And, as I posted just recently on that thread, I thought the pic sucked. Well, I took it so it was my doing. But the work doesn't look to good. I stopped work on that car for a week or so and the rust crept up on me. Needless to say, I had to sandblast that panel before I could resume my work.
I made the panel from a flat piece only to find out later that Stoddards sells a dogleg for the repair. Anyway, the gap got fixed with lead and the car came out nice. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1223239011.jpg Unfortunately, that is the other side which did not require a new panel. |
