I found the link.

http://www.tristatemodule.com/

These guys rebuild the modules and then send them back. Or, if they have it in stock, they will send it to you first, and you send back the dead one.

Where did YOU come from?
:D

A week on the Turks and Caicos islands if you really must know! Now am stuck in Ruidoso New Mexico until the 15th or so.

Just not coming here very often these days. Got tired of playing games I guess, along with an increasing number of people who feel the same way here.

James,

I looked into using those guys on the 48" Mitsubishi I fixed and they were a good option, but in the end replacing 4 caps was a lot cheaper and easier.

Rick need to do a good search of the internet forums and make sure that this is going to fix the issue, and if not then look into options.

The above site contains many proprietary repairs to older sets. Service manual data, tips, hints, secret codes on the remotes to reach the service menu's, etc.

Good info on ISF calibration and fine tuning your set to make it look better than new.

These "old" rear projection TV's, in my opinion, provide the best pictures available. Their drawbacks are you need to view center screen level and the need to keep the room darkened a bit. It's also important to keep the convergence adjusted and the mirror/crt's cleaned.

When properly tuned, plasma, DLP, and LCD can't hold a candle to these old huge boxes.

I heard it's worth buying a warranty for a big screen so I did. I had a problem and Mitsubishi said it would be two weeks before they could get to it.

I called a local TV repair shop and they fixed it within a couple days for about $150. Now I don't buy an extended warranty for anything.

The guy who came to my house said my problem was the focus tube and that 95% of the time, it just needs to be tweaked. He said if it goes again within a few days, then I need a new focus tube and he'd put my $100 toward that repair. When he took the front panel off yesterday, he showed me the convergence IC's. I think I could tackle that job myself. In fact, I could DIY a new focus tube too. My only issue is that I don't know how to make adjustments. When he was playing with it yesterday, he had the tv on and was getting some weird images on the screen. I'm not too worried about this. I'll just need to source the convergence IC's for my model and I think they'd be under $60 total. But I'll cross that bridge when I find it.

Its a well known issue with the projection Mitsubishi's. Usually easy to fix if you know how to work a soldering iron, otherwise its $1000 or so repair bill.

1700 posts on 60 pages about this issue located here: http://www.techlore.com/forum/thread/18990/Mitsubishi-WS65513-Blinking-Green-Light/?page=1

All it takes is a de-soldering tool, soldering iron and some skill. If you have never done something like circuit board work, then its prolly better you not do it yourself. Find someone who has ham radio or builds computers or the like who has done this before. Its not that hard but its also very easy to mess up the entire TV.

PM or email me if you need more help, glad to assist.

Thanks,, I'll be back in NH over TG,, I'll take the module over to Chris Bennet's or Charles P and fix it then.. I'll email you if I run into problems

You WILL need to get the repair info from Larry, the mod on the link I posted above, and also order the capacitors ahead of time. Do NOT get the Radio Shack versions as they last 4 months or so then the TV dies for good.

Am flying over Thanksgiving so lead the emails a bit.
