Emotional Derived Ideology.. Hmmm.. That sounds to me like "life long learning". Most folks derive their ideology from both life experiences and from their education and external exposure to current thought. Citizens cannot separate this combination from their reality. Any of us can point to personal turning points in their personal ideology and strong internal beliefs. These in turn cause us to be liberals, democrats, blue dog democrats, neutrals or Right to Lifers, republicans, centrist republicans, republicrats, or any variation of the group. The group is always learning and changing. In other words, democracy results in a troublesome bunch to predict.
Tabs, I believe that GW has had a tough bunch of cards to play, not like Bill C, who basically had a good, upward run, punctuated by a hard issue he could not keep controlled. GW has been demonized by the Liberal left and their news outlets and opinion makers(I believe you have spoken to this). Bill got vitually impeached then rehabilitated by the left. All was forgiven. I doubt GW will get this treatment in the current history, maybe in 50 years. I believe he actually has had to play the cards he got, made a hash of some of it(who wouldn't) but has pulled it out of his *** at the end of his term. The roots of the current economic crisis go back to Jimmy Carter and Bill C.(read history instead of the NY Times). So he got to play those cards too. I guarantee he will get chapters in history while Bill C may end up be a fluffer and a footnote. Glenn
