The movie "W" is overly long and becomes boring, because it is a one joke film that gets repeatitious. After the first hour wishing it was over, the only reason to stay is to see how it turns out for "W" at the end! Ultimately a sad movie about a man who gets in over his head. To Olive Stones credit, he does not exploit the tragedy it represents.Walking away one wonders if one would have the capacity to handle the Presidency successfully under the circumstances "W" found himself under? .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ............... Further there is one squeaker of a line that is likely to be missed in the movie spoken by the Carl Rove character, "The American people want revenge (for 911) and if we do not give it to them we will not be here (in the White House) in 2 years." That said it was an imperative that the administration take some decisive action to bolster American sense of you can get away with this attack on America.

There is a theater near here that is playing a double feature of ''W'' and "Brokeback Mountain''.
I'll be seeing both next week, after hell freezes over. |
