No more Lemond?

Just on a whim, I thought I'd check out what new bikes Lemond has coming out. Typed in "lemondbikes.com" and found the site no longer exists. So I "Googled" Lemond and found this:

Easy money no more for 'ol Greg...

I didn't even know about this...

The lemond bikes were pretty good. Too bad about the bad blood between Lemond, Trek and Armstrong. I still believe that Armstrong is clean and I hope he smokes em next year.

Met him back in '86 or '87, seemed like a very nice guy to me

I think Trek came to realize the same fact the Lakers found before trading Shaq: two superstars can't coexist under the same roof.

Aren't brands a bit silly in the world of cycling?

Its the Chinese vs Mexican vs American stratocaster business all over again.

Here are 3 bicycles all with the same brand name. The low end cruiser they make is made in China. Their midrange bikes are made in Taiwan or Korea, and their highend bikes are 'made' in the USA. I say 'made' because most of the components (including the carbon frame) are made in China, its just slapped together here with a Made In The USA sticker on it.

For all except the true biking nuts (like myself), I don't see how brand is relevant anymore for the average consumer.

Does that mean you'll be buying your next bike from bikesdirect.com?

I was a Lemond fan back in my big cycling days in HS, but he does seem a little kooky these days.

I thought it was cool he got into car racing a few years back, but I don't think he did too well.

i just watched how it is made and they showed the carbon madone being made in wisconsin. the carbon tubes were formed and assembled by what looked like white americans, mainly woman.

i think it is a disgrace what lemond is doing to cycling and lance. unless he has proof, keep his mouth shut. lance trained and peaked for 2 weeks out of the year, same thing lemond did, lance jsut won more.

you have to believe lance is clean until he is proven guilty of anything. what hurt me the most was tyler H and of course landis, 2 people i would have never thought would cheat.

i have always wondered why lance could not have an official live with him 24/7 during the tour, even when he showers, just to prove he is clean.

another thing i hate hearing about is pantani's time up alp duez. if he was later busted for drugs, why not speculate he did drugs on alp D and through out his record?
