Thanks for posting. FWIW, Chrysler actually built a "test fleet" of the turbine powered cars. One of them made a stop in our small town. The driver a salesman for Paymaster, the check writing machine company. Kind of cool to hear it whine. The driver turned down an offer to take on the town's quickest (1/4 mile) car.

Amazing. It's a little bit before my time, I'm only 31, but I do have a real soft spot for 60's American cars. I always promised myself I'd get a 68 Sting Ray, but ended up getting a 68 911 instead. Not sure which has the worse cornering.

The 55 Lincoln Futura was a running functioning car.
It was sold later, modified, painted black and was the .... BATMOBILE in the TV series. |
