When the Zombies come,...

I'll be ready..

Add me to the list of AR owners,.. Picked up a new Colt LE 6920 today...

Its crazy, apparantly alot of people are worried about the upcoming ban if you- know- who gets elected. The Gun brokers cant get enough of them to sell. My guy stated he usually sells 1-2 a month, well since Oct 1 he has sold over 50 AR's!

Should prove pretty useful for some emergency "community organizing".

Me likey! How much?

Aerkuld 10-29-2008 09:32 AM

I got one a couple of weeks ago. I got mine at an auction for a very fair price, especially considering it's an '89/'90 Delta (factory selected for accuracy). Better yet was the lot that my wife bid on and won the previous day at the same auction. She didn't know at the time, but in that lot was the original aluminum hardcase for the gun I ended up buying, complete with serial number on the label, 7 mags, a Harris bipod, and the original cleaning kit. I only found that out when I picked up the stuff she'd won from my Father-in-laws two days after I got the AR. Even with the cost of the lot that my wife bought we still had change from a grand.

Which was nice.

too bad i live in commie-fornia
those were outlawed years ago
i'd LOVE to have one of those

rattlsnak 10-29-2008 06:50 PM

I got it for @ $1,285.00 There are cheaper versions of ARs, but this one is the Colt Law Enforcement model, and had all the features I wanted, like adjustable, stock, flash suppressor, 16 inch m4, 1/7 barrell, etc.

All of these were banned for @ 10 years, not long ago, but that ban was lifted except for Ca., N.Y. and a couple of others, who have their own version. This is why they are selling like hot cakes right, as everyone fears a 'permanant ban' as BO has stated he will pass. However, a few gun brokers ARE allowed to ship to Ca., so there is some kind of loophole in there somwhere. Go to gunbroker.com and do some searching.

Federal Assault Weapons Ban
From Wikipedia,
The Federal Assault Weapons Ban (AWB) was a subtitle of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, a federal law of the United States that included a prohibition on the sale to civilians of certain semi-automatic "assault weapons" manufactured after the date of the ban's enactment. There was no prior legal definition of "assault weapons" prior to its enactment. The ten-year ban was passed by Congress on September 13, 1994 and was signed into law by President Bill Clinton the same day. The ban expired on September 13, 2004, as part of the law's sunset provision.

well, go onto calguns . net It seems that there's a few loop holes that have come into play.

some gent figured out that YOU can have a AR15 receiver if it's not listed on the 1999 law.

You can build them up a couple of ways to be legal.

1st way is that you can buils it up if the grip has a web blocking your thumb from going around the grip (monster-man grip)

2nd is that theirs a stock that's called a u-15 and it's very goofy looking but works great.

3rd. If you make the magazine release button NOT work by using your hands If it requires a tool to depress the button it's legal the device is called a "bullet button"
you put the tip of a bullet in the button and depress the mag release.

You may use 20 or 30 round mags if you bought them prior to the ban on them dateing jan 2000.

If you didn't buy all the 20 rounders that you needed back then you can only own 10 rounders.

please check the laws for yourself this is just a quick run of it

That's pretty nice. What I'd really like is a Street Sweeper.

Jim Richards 10-30-2008 10:53 AM

Yeah, they always pop up from real dumpy or creepy surroundings. I'll bet they hate zamboni's too. Hmmm, the Zombies vs. the Zambonis. Hugh, I gots a hot movie idea for ya!!! :)

onewhippedpuppy 10-30-2008 10:55 AM

Ghetto zombies?

campbellcj 10-30-2008 11:37 PM

I suspect there is a lof pre-election shopping going on. I did mine months ago. Same thing in 2004. You never know what the legislative wackos will try to ban next.

gtc 10-31-2008 11:13 AM

I'm waiting for the election hysteria to die down. Then I'm getting an AR-10!

I will probably buy a few more mags today and I'm trying really hard to restrain myself from buying the SAR AK-47 in the gun store where I'm picking up my new SIG on Monday. I feel like I can afford that rifle but would then be tempted to pick up a few thousand rounds of ammo for it and that would make it too expensive.

I've been looking at Armalite and Saber for a plinking gun. I ran across dpms www.dpmsinc.com brand and they have very attractive pricing for there target guns. Any info on these guys?

Rick Lee 11-03-2008 01:57 PM

DPMS is quality stuff. I got one of their flat top upper receivers for my M4. Excellent workmanship and very well priced.

targa911S 11-03-2008 02:12 PM

Oh I know a LOT of guys who are buying crap guns to turn in when THAT day comes, sooner than we think I feel. They will hide the good stuff, just like they did in Russia when the Commies disarmed everyone. Lots of fine guns still buried over there.. Now where did I put that metal detector?

+1 on very well priced, thats what has me worried. $949 for the 24'' bull barrel http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=1435&cat=1735 smokes comparable aramlite offerings in pricing. I understand it would be more $$ after I added some goodies, but still less(a lot) than Aramalite or Saber. Thanks for the response.

911boost 11-03-2008 04:03 PM

I am partial to RRA.

911boost 11-03-2008 04:32 PM

Thanks.

Its a 20 inch barrel. RRA guarantees 3/4 MOA at 100 yards and I have seen better than that.

This was a mock-up picture. The scope sits much closer to the barrel now.

I am currently building a 22-250 Remington using a Savage action, with a 24inch Douglas XX barrel and a custom stock. Its going to be heavy, but it will be a bench / bipod gun.

You should be able to do much better than $949 on a long/bull barrel:

How many of you have actually studied the science and life style of Zombies before purchasing your weapon of choice? Not many I would estimate. Instead, most are enamored of rapid-fire weapons designed for mere mortal armies. And what about those pesky Vampires? Have you considered they may actually prefer NRA blood-types over a socialist Lib? And there you are, naked without a single silver bullet of any caliber at the ready with the Count himself jiggling the front door knob.

Be prepared. You're leaving yourself way short by not choosing the most effective tool to save your sorry hide. That's why I bookmark The Federal Vampire and Zombie Agency website whenever I need expert advice. Good info here:
