Down Housing Market Hits Home
Just had my house appraised for a refi. The house was built almost exactly one year ago and I have spent about $60k in improvements such as a pool, deck, pergola, interior stuff... the appraisal came in at $15k less than I paid originally.
Good thing I have no plans to move again. Ever.

I had mine appraised about a month ago. Came in at $270K. I paid $215K in 2001. I owe $180K. I okay with it, I'm not going anywhere. I don't really understand though. A bigger turd than mine sold for $295K in March. Market time was less than a month. I figured mine was worth at least that much.

It could be worse - for a lot of people it is worse, gulp.

Yep, could be worse. Houses here are comparatively cheap to many areas in the US. I'm sure many people would love to be in my situation. Prices will rise for everyone though... someday.

Mine just went up $1000 this month. Been flat for the last 6 months or so, then dipped in Sept by $3k. Now coming back up is a good sign.
Builders are actively going at it a mile down the road and the places are selling, so guess this area is picking up. Good thing as we need it.
