Texas vs Texas Tech
Here's hoping the Red Raiders step up to big time .... but it looks like a tough task. UT looks pretty formidable.
I'm looking forward to this game tonight.

This has the potential to be the best game of the year so far...I hope it lives up to the hype

I'm obviously a fan of Texas so I'm going to try to be objective here. I think Tech has an incredible passing game, but that's it. They have not really been tested, both Nebraska and A&M had them sweating. An explosive passing game will only get you so far against Texas.
Texas probably has the toughest schedule in the country this year and they are battling through it. Last weeks game against Ok State revealed the weaknesses in their defense as well as their special teams. If Tech studied the film and has the ability to capitalize on what they learned it will probably be the best game of the year. I have the big screen setup on the back deck and friends coming over this afternoon to BBQ and drink beer! I'm hoping for another lopsided game like the one against Mizzu but I have a feeling Tech is on a revenge mission after the last couple defeats so it should be good. Hook'em! |

My son went to Tech and is a big fan and is going out to watch with his friends. It's a shame the stadium only holds 53k.
Tech's Defense has always been a weak point, and in past years penalties and big plays would break them in these big games. Texas offense is clicking on all cylinders and I don't know if Tech can stop them.

However it ends up, both have really talented teams and coaches. Tech really should be ranked higher than they currently are. I have no idea how USC can be ranked above them and OSU at this point in the year looking at their schedules. BCS is a magical wonder I guess.
Have fun watching the game tonight! |

I will, same to you! I think I'll run over to Sneaky Pete's and watch it there with an enthusiastic Crowd of partisans fans and I'll hoist one to the winner either way :-)

Texas is very good, but their opponents have racked up allot of points in defeat.
TT might run it up. |

Well their opponents that have been ranked in the top 10 have scored points. Hard to say how that compares to the rest of the teams out there since most have weak schedules and barely play any ranked teams at all

Brother, sil, and nephew all UT grads. My son is soph there. My wife and daughter are both Tech grads. And my wife and I are going to be at a ZZ-Top concert in Amarillo tonight. DVRing the thing and hope I don't hear the score before I actually get to watch it.
I think Texas will win but sure wouldn't bet on it. Either way Tech has OU and OSU after this game and there is no way they will win those. I hope I'm wrong. Either way, one of my teams is going to win. I won't feel bad.

If they were playing in Austin I would say fuggedaboudit, but in Lubbock it is going to be close, should be best game of the day, but the Cocktail Party is shaping up to be good too
Nebraska is better than their record indicates, pretty sure they play OU in Norman today, and Norman is a tough place for anybody not singing "Boomer Sooner"

If Texas plays like last week they don't have a chance. Hopefully the Ok St game was a wake up call.

It will probably start out like a Rocky movie, a real slug fest. Texas needs to play keep away and establish a running game utilizing the zone read like they did against Oklahoma. Tech defense nowhere near as good and if we keep the ball out of Graham Harrells's hands, they can't score.
Hook Em! Class of 81

This is a great game. McCoy intercepted, Tech returns it for a touchdown. 28-13 Tech with the extra point upcoming.

Texas is making it a game again. 29-26 Tech with 11 mins left in the game after a 90 yard touchdown by McCoy

This is a great game! I love both teams but Tech brought the game but Colt McCoy is coming back.

Amazing! At least there's one good "Raiders" team in the world today.

It lived up to the hype: game of the year...that was amazing. Had no horse in the race, but I liked seeing Tech win.

One of the best college games I've seen in quite some time.
