Get yer' Predictions...Political Predictions

...step right up...Get 'em while their Hot!

Ok, we are still a week from the last big Primary so, ladies and gentlemen, let's all stick our neck's WAAAAAY out and have some fun.

Come November we can resurrect this thread and have a good laugh at or congratulate whomever got it so wrong or so right.
_____________________________

I think Obama closes out Hillary next week. She is finished. She soon after concedes and goes back to N.Y. to lick her wounds.

So we are left with what?
A far left, empty suit, promising more of the same socialist 'change', feel good 'hope' and little else. Or...a GOP candidate with a record of working across the aisle and a somewhat moderate track record.

MY PREDICTION: McCain is the next POTUS and the Democratic Party is left scratching its collective head yet AGAIN ...over how they blew it!

No Predictions COUNT ...after next Monday!

Hero or humility? Dive in boys (and girls).

I think Obama beats out Hillary with the popular vote, but I don't see Hil giving up that easy. The Clintons are "win at all costs" people, I forsee some superdelegate nastiness upcoming. All the while the Republicans can sit back and watch the Dems tear each other apart.

In the end, I think McCain gets the presidency. He has a long and distinguished record, is fairly moderate, and has a record of working well with both parties. McCain has a chance of getting Dem votes, Hil/Obama are too socialist to get many Rep votes. If it's McCain vs Obama, I think McCain wins a close one thanks to his strength on the issues and experience. If it's McCain vs Hillary, I think McCain destroys Hil because she scares people on both sides.

I'll play. My crystal ball has failed a time or two, but right now it's saying Obama wins the nomination but Clinton makes it close right to the last second. Her supporters get pissed and give only half hearted support to Obama. Obama goes on to take big initial leads over McCain, but bylate summer the polls have McCain pulling even. By fall the right will have decided to back McCain fully, after reflecting they have more in common with a military vet/war hawk than a Harvard educated lawyer who just happens to be black. The red/blue state map will reconfigure with Obama picking up some southern and border states that were solidly Republican since 1980 and McCain making inroads into the liberal bastions of the northeast and (gasp) possible California.

Final tally: McCain wins by 75 electoral votes and a solid 7 percentage points.

What MRM said but add in some solid uglies over the Muslim name thing and some racial stuff. This one ain't gonna be pretty guys (are they ever).

I'm a Democrat as you all know and I STILL am not sure that ultimately Obama CAN win. I think this country still has a way to go, whether I like it or not.

Well, I voted for W in 2000 and look how that turned out.
Then the choices were so bad in 2004 that I voted for Mike Badnarik.

So my track record is not all that stellar, but here's my prediction right now:

Neither Obama or Hil will do our nation a damn bit of good. But if the Dems have even the slightest bit of common sense...and if the Dems do not self-destruct...there should be no way that the GOP can win.

About the only thing that MccAin has going for him is the terrorism/national security issue. And it should be easy for the Dems to neutralize that since it's a false perception.

All that the Dems really need to do is keep playing the "past 8 years" card and lumping McCain with Bush, Iraq, loss of jobs, our trade imbalance, and the economy.

Immigration is the other big issue but McCain has little advantage there either.

The minor issues that some goobers get fixated upon such as gay rights, abortion, religion, etc will not have much effect since those folks had their minds made up long ago.

Bottom line should be an easy win for any Dem this time around.

My predictions have been absolutely worthless in the past....so lets make more!

Obama gets nomination. Clinton goes down fighting.

Obama takes early lead in presidential race. People are excited and JFK comparisons are made. But as it gets closer to November, the gaps closes and McCain wins.

Early in the race, Dan and Nick are tied for most creative.

Here goes nothin'...

Hillary loses the popular, but wins on the supers. Or Obama wins, but under intense fire from "swift boat veterans for Hillary." Either way, the Dem vote is badly torn apart by the dirtiness of the in-fighting and Dem voter turnout is abysmal in November, so McCain takes it anyway.

Now here's the fun part. To make sure that he gets the election, McCain picks Hillary as his running mate. McCain realizes that, with a D-VP, he's actually a liberal, so instead of cutting taxes and reducing gov't spending, he RAISES both taxes and spending. Welfare and health care for all, and down with that anti-union sentiment!! As a war-vet liberal, though, he can't let the only conflict of his presidency go to waste, however, so he gets out of Iraq by heading East into Iran, where he discovers that they did, in fact, dismantle their nuclear program shortly after the invasion of Iraq. He opens the borders to illegal immigrants and grants amnesty for all, as well as welfare without proof of citizenship.

Then, in a cruel and ironic twist of fate, he dies of a heart attack while receiving a BJ from an intern, and Hillary becomes president after all.

Anybody want to put money on their bets? I sure don't...

Dan

I tend to agree with that.

I see that since they are all liberals, this race should come down to the more moderate (McCain) winning; But, the dynamics of energized risk-takers (pro Obama) and the apathetic right-wingers (no dog in the race) may just give Obama the edge. --tho, likely, Obama has already peaked.

I'll adopt that post, except McCain won't win California.

And the Dems will have once again snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. As one of the big Democratic commentators said the other day, if the Dems can't beat the Republicans in this election, they may as well fold up their tent and give up.

Obama beats Clinton in Ohio and Texas.
Clinton gives up her bid.

McCain and Obama battle throughout the summer.
Obama crushes McCain by a wide margin in November.

You nailed it. I'll also add that I think this will be one of the cleanest campaigns in history. Neither Obama or McCain are that kind of campaigner and the public is sick of that ***** anyway. While the DNC and RNC might try to pull some BS (the DNC are actually trying it now) it won't wash and could ultimately backfire for their candidate.

Obama (by proxy) will HAVE to go negative BIG. He can't win on preaches alone, and hasn't done anything to support his fitness for POTUS.

Obama going negative is 180 deg from his current message of hope and change. I think it would seriously hurt his campaign.

Obama wins Ohio and Clinton withdraws. McCain wins the election by 5 points.

Hillary will continue the smear campaign even after she's lost it conpletely, because she's a ****** c**t, and a criminal (although never convicted).

Obama will keep saying "Change" so much that Obama talking dolls will only need to be programmed with one word.

McCain will grow his neck back and win the Presidency, where he will promptly kick Pelosi to the curb like the rapid blinking blowhard she is (at least I hope). and raise taxes anyways.
