Looks very nice but I was hoping for around 2400-2500lbs instead of the 3000 lbs. That seems so un-Lotus like.

May not get better mileage but the Toyota will be more reliable. And there is still un-tapped power in that motor. They use the some motor as the corolla in the elise and it is a little rocket.

That Lotus looks way sexier than any porsche being sold today. Way sexier.

Wow great looking car. Love all Lotus cars ever since I saw my first Lotus at the Chicago Auto Show.

Maybe that is why I still own two of them and only 1 PORSCHE.

Funny, I think it is hideous. Not a fan of the boxter/cayman style much, but Evora looks like a cut and paste job. Lines just don't flow IMO. And 3K lbs in a Lotus? Chapman cries in his grave. Fail on all counts

I thought the motor was out of the Celica?

I'm not a huge fan of the styling of this new car. It's not ugly, but it doesn't gel for me, personally. Of course, this is just the show version. Recall how the Elise went from pretty to insectoid-ugly from generation 1 to what is currently imported.

Probably the same. I know that we have a corolla with a toyota 1.8 4cyl. Thats a pretty sippy little car and weighs way more than an elise.

If you look at Chapman's own 'favourite car' you might see the new Evora is pretty much what the man himself was aiming for...

At the time (early 70s) this was a 'beautiful car'... and luxurious and a 4 seater..mind you at only 2K lbs they were pretty light.. but then again they only had a 2.2l 4cyl engine and somewhere like 160bhp (If that initially)...

As with all Loti.. its not about how fast you are going.. its how you go fast...

The area where the cabin meets the body behind the door.....just not right. They need to make it more organic. They should have abandon the 'go cart' look of the Elise for the backend. The nose looks great IMHO.

Well of course but IMHO on the boxster level I think this wins out.
