I love strong women.

Jogger runs mile with rabid fox locked on her arm The Associated Press Authorities in Arizona say a jogger attacked by a rabid fox ran a mile with the animal’s jaws clamped on her arm and then drove herself to a hospital. The Yavapai County sheriff’s office said the woman told deputies she was on a trail near Prescott on Monday when the fox attacked and bit her foot. She said she grabbed the fox by the neck when it went for her leg but it bit her arm. The woman wanted the animal tested for rabies so she ran a mile to her car with the fox still biting her arm, then pried it off and tossed it in her trunk and drove to the Prescott hospital. The sheriff’s office says the fox later bit an animal control officer. He and the woman are both receiving rabies vaccinations. http://www.kansascity.com/450/story/876674.html

Rabid animals are basically insane. Fear them no matter their size for they have no fear.

I got bit by a stray dog when I was ten years old, went thru a complete series of rabies shots. Not something you'd want to do twice in life. I can see why she held on to it to be tested.

I ride in those parts a lot and always have a sidearm handy for just such an occasion. You can really be screwed if you need help out there.

I do 24 hour mountain bike races solo. So I'm on the bike, riding cross country for 24 hours straight. Until about 1 minute ago, I thought I was pretty tough.
Compared to your wife, I am a complete and total pussy. Your wife ROCKS. Without a doubt, that would be the hardest job on the planet. ![]() angela

In college I dated a swimmer who held the NAIA record for 50 m free who was pretty tough, and a triple jumper who was state champ gymnast in her youth. It was like she was chiseled out of stone, fantastic body, terrible bunions

The only bad thing was what they did before they gave me the rabies shots. The doctor wasn't sure what the treatment was so he researched it. He told the intern to put 250,000 units of immuniglobulin as close to the bite as possible (index finger). I had no idea how much "250,000 units" was, but it seemed unlikely that there was room for it in my finger. Turns out it 10ml. Even if my finger was completely hollow, it wouldn't hold 10ml. They put 2mls in my finger (largest shot they are supposed to put in your arm is 2ml), and then they put 4ml each in each arm. To get 2ml in my index finger they poked me about 20 times. At one point, my vision narrowed to a small spot. I figured I was about to pass out, but didn't.

More of the story, and video with interview with the bitee.
Any "LOST" fans here? This woman looks a little like Evangeline Lilly with her hair pinned up. http://www.kpho.com/news/17916934/detail.html
