That would be excellent in LA traffic
|

Unimog. Duh.

You're all wrong. You want this:

Constructed for the 1977 Sci-fi flick, Damnation Alley, the Landmaster cost about $1,200,000 (in 2008 bucks) to build. Fully amphibious, this 12-wheeled monster was no typical movie prop. Popular Science said this of the Landmaster: Three independent drive sources running from a gasoline power plant. Uses semi truck parts in the drive train. Can operate with the front or rear wheel trinary out of commission. Side and top hatches on the main unit and rear and top on the after section. Full running lights and brake lights for urban street use. External video camera is mounted on the forward pylon located just behind the front top hatch. Could also house the antenna. All pylons are hardened and armored. Can operate in water and will remain sealed when fully submerged. Can float while half full of water. |

Cool, that beat a $500 truck, per the windshield price. |
I remember that Damnation Alley vehicle used to sit in a parking lot next to the Hollywood Freeway (across from Universal Studios). I think it sat there for about ten years along with some other movie junk.
|
I don't get the purpose of the three-wheel clusters on the Damnation Alley thing. Seems overcomplicated to drive with no real benefit.

The artillery observation post for the missiles needs some rethinking. Sherwood |

Like I said, you need an extra-large gas tank after the apocolypse: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1226313165.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1226313176.jpg |

Advantage ZIL, as you can mince the looters after you crush them. I'm looking for one of these:

Do you mean watching Mad Max frequently does not predict the reality or that frequently watching Mad Max does not predict the reality?
I think that frequently watching Mad Max frequently predicts the reality of Armageddon. |

You think getting fuel on a holiday weekend is tough..... try it on any apocalyptic Sunday with Lord Humungous, your friendly gas station attendant. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1226356461.jpg Sherwood |
