Just saw "The Who"...WOW is all I can say
Wow. I mean...wow!! what a show! My wife dragged me to this show and we were lucky enough to be close to the front. These guys put on one of the best shows I have EVER seen. :D:D
(Big BIG smile :D) (But what's that ringing in my ears now...:p) You guys have got to see them. |

My A#1 top fave band of all time!:)
Seen them recently. Awesome show, but unfortunately, Roger's singing has diminished. His voice has changed drastically and overall singing ability in general. just isn't the same. Pete still kicks azz though!! Best show I seen was when they played Shea stadium back in 1982 |
The Who without The Ox and Moony is just wrong. Saw them in 66 as an opening act for ....Hermans Hermits. Noone was afraid to go out after them. Tough act to follow.

I saw them a couple of weeks ago in Boston, it was amazing, there were no light shows, lasers or any of that crap, just a great concert. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1226335957.jpg

I saw them in the late 80s on their first reunion tour. They were amazing.

I've seen all three iterations - the full band, without Moon, and finally without Entwhistle. They are still a great band, with Ringo's kid on drums and Pete's kid on rythm guitar. I'm not sure who plays bass, but it would have been cool if Greg Lake hard toured with them. They will never be anything like they were at full strength, though. When they were still firing on all four cylinders they were truly something to behold, something very special. Now they are merely "damn good".

Keith can never be replaced. Those shoes are just way to big to fill!
|
Just imagine in 30 years when Britney's 3rd backup dancer kicks the bucket.
That will really mess up the line up at her shows. |

What Jeff said. Moon and Entwistle were certainly unique, and very possibly the best rhythm pair in rock history.
My comparative impressions of rock bands' "energy level" has changed over the years but I finally came to the realization that no rock band ever had more energy than this one. |

have you seen Zak Starkey play with the Who? whoaaa!! He most definately is keith Moon. Its like he is possessed by Keith while playing , seriously
|
The Who's the first concert I ever saw around '81 and one of the last concert's I've been to around '06. Definently two of the best shows I've ever seen! Unfortunately Moon was already gone by '81 but at least I saw Entwistle once.

Roger has had several polyp operations on his chords. Can't imagine why...
|
Oh and although Lake is a great bassist, he couldn't hold the Ox's strap. John was unique, can't think of anybody that would be even close to his style. He kept the band from taking off into space. John is one of my biggest influences as a young bass player. I still play the Gibson Thunderbird he autographed for me when I met them on tour in the 80's.
