I bought one for my 13 year old when I was in Bahrain last year. he still has it and wears it. They are not as scratch resistant as the real thing but he doesn't care. Also the three little dials do not function as they do on the real version, it does something like year, month, day.

That looks nothing like any Porsche Design watch I have ever seen. Very seriously ugly in my view. The Porsche watches I know are sleek and minimalist in design—not this kind of gaudy, rococo nonsense.

I have both an original Porsche design and a copy. I bought the copy because I love the way the watch looks but I can be very hard on watches and did not want to ruin an expensive watch that I would like to hand down to one of my kids some day. I wear the copy often and the real one for special occasions. No one has been able to tell the difference between the two when they are on my wrist. The copy does not preform all the functions the the original does. They weigh about the same. If you wear it a lot eventually the silver color (colour) will wear off the case to reveal the brass case underneath. The band on mine is size specific to the the watch and to purchase a replacement band form a Porsche design shop here in LA was well over $100.00 just for the band. I wont speak to your choice in watches because, well it's your choice. I think watches are an art form and everyone has their own opinions them. Porsche Design watches have changed quite a bit over the years and now include designs that some people might find not to their tastes. There are hundreds of sites on the internet to get fake watches from and the price will fluctuate with the quality. Most come from China and have cheap movements but keep good time. Hope that helps Steve

ETERNA With the launch of the new Porsche Design watch collection in 1998, Eterna, having been recently acquired by the Porsche family, set itself new challenges. With the motto “Form Follows Function”, its engineers and watchmakers focussed on the successful transfer to watch making of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s creative concepts F.A. Porsche, through F.A.P. Beteiligungen GmbH, took over Eterna SA in Grenchen. In this way, the precondition that the new direction of the Eterna trademark, which had already been introduced and run successfully, can be consistently developed onwards was achieved. | ||
