New GM Buying oportunity!
Down to $2.75 a share! Anyone else all in with me? What was it someone said about $5 a share? This is the real bargain. If it takes three years to get back to its 52 week high, that would be what, a 300% per year return on investment? Where else can you get that kind of return? Sell the farm, baby, put it all on GM!

That was me at $5.85 per share!
That was not a good idea! $2.75 per share, that is amazing. There are many people in the world who could now write a check and buy the entire company. |

At $2.75, the P/E ratio is still way negative.

Yeah, but the dividends will soon be a 100% return just by itself
. "The", I again thank you for the "reality check" your post gave me on a similar thread not to long ago when I was thinking about doing something, shall we say "not too smart"...

How can GM still be paying dividends? I don't think so.

I say we wait a few more weeks, and then, just before Christmas when they have the third markdown clearance sale and the stock is really cheap, we all go in on a Pelican Parts group buy and take over GM. Len will be in charge of suppliers/vendors. We can all act as the design team. We can take turns as the development team and test drivers. We'll make money renting the development track out to wayward NASCAR teams and racing enthusiasts. I see a future for GM in our hands.

Here is my contribution for a segment in a "rescue plan" for GM: Looking at the prices that certain vintage GM cars sell for (like '59 Cadillacs); I propose that we start making exact reproductions of those cars. In order to make them "exact" we'll buy old junk cars (probably something like pre-72 cars) and take the VIN section of their chassis and build the new replica on that chassis. That way, the new reproductions will just be rebuilds of old cars and won't require all the safety and emission gizmos that a completely new car would require. While the reproduction business won't replace the need for new cars and new designs, it would help to provide needed cash while the reorganization of the company is done. |
