Welcome to two years ago Wayne

Nah, just razzing you... it really is a cool technology. The one that's got me scratching my head recently is the mobile phone app where you hold the phone up to any music source (radio, movie, whatever) and it can tell you in seconds what the song is and gives you links to go buy a copy. That's crazy.

Is this like Launchcast that used to be (?) on yahoo? Maybe 5 years ago? I used to love that, but they forbid listening to streaming audio at work so I gave it up. I found a myriad of cool new artists that way.

Yep, been using it for over a year... pretty sure they make their money off the advertisements on the webpage.

They also sell a radio like device you can hook up to your home stereo.

It is cool, if you use the "thumbs up-thumbs down" buttons on each song it really does a great job of refining to your style preferences.

I prefer Last.fm. I think the music selection and training is superior to Pandora's. I'm still finding new artists, whereas with Pandora I would start hearing the same songs over and over after a few hours of training the station. Also, it seems to be more successful at suggesting songs that I might like.

Been using this for about a year now, it is absolutely wonderful. If you listen to one station long enough and actually use the little thumb up/down on ech song after a while it will only play what you like.

It has figured out I like Slow Jams. For the ladies, of course.

Pandora's great... I've got 14 channels... Amos Lee, Creedence, Eva Cassidy, Charlie Hunter, Tom Petty, The Spinners...

I like Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Bach, Schubert, Liszt etc. Are any of the aforementioned systems appropriate for, or useful to me.

Thank you, Thank you very much!

I also have been on Pandora for a while.... I have been using Replay software to record
my stuff off Pandora. I have some really good CD's that I have recorded. Every now and
then Pandora will sneak in a stinker but for the most part, just load up Pandora set your
channel and start recording.

Yeah, but HOW MANY of those "artists" can do "Hoogie-Boogie Land"?

I prefer FineTune -- you can create your own playlist. Plus I can get it in Canada

I kind of go between the two, but I also think that Last.fm is a bit better for these reasons.
