Texas A&M Football
Ok, I feel the need to vent here a little since I am way to chicken to venture onto a Texas Aggie Football board and endure the idiots over there.
First, Aggie football sucks right now. Franchione ran the program absolutely into the ground. The talent level is probably at an all time low. Having said that, I think the real problem are the alumni and the boosters. These idiots are still thinking it is the early 90's and the team is a top 10 team every year. It's almost like they have been in a coma for the last 10 years and don't even realize this team has been heading downhill for a decade. I agree Franchione was a disaster and needed to be fired. The thing that irks me is that a bunch of people are calling for Sherman to be fired this year! After one friggin season! The guy inherited a crappy team that has been on a downhill slide for the last 10 years and is supposed to somehow pull out a winning season in arguably the toughest conference in football? Come on. I guess I should be happy, my wife and I are planning to get season tickets next year, if all these idiots follow through on their threats to cancel their tickets I should be able to slide into better seats for less money...

I haven't kept up w/ Aggie football but what the heck did Sherman do to Jovorskie Lane? For a guy that could run over everyone to be turned into a FB and not get to carry the ball?
I'm sorry, Fran might have been an idiot but Sherman isn't showing himself to be any better.

Lane basically is overweight. It's his own fault. He porked up a little last year but Fran kept handing him the ball. He came in this year massively overweight and failed to meet a weight requirement that Sherman set for him. For that reason, Sherman has essentially benched him. I went to the Colorado game and Lane carried the ball maybe 5 times, all on very short yardage situations.

My neighbor is a die hard fan, he goes to every home game. I think it's sad, to waste that kind of fuel going to College Station and back. I'm not really sure how the fans thought a rebuilding year was going to equal a 10 win season, but I really think they expected it. For your sake I hope people drop their tickets so you can move into better seats, even if you don't go to the games, it might be worth it in a few years.

You know, it's funny. I never really had a burning desire to get season tickets before. I hadn't been to a game in probably 6-7 years until this season. The guy my wife works for has season seats and gave us his Colorado tickets because he was going to be out of town. First off, we had a blast, I had forgotten how much fun college football is to attend. Second, for some reason now that they suck I feel this need to support the poor guys.
The big draw for me is that it will be something for my kids and I to do, my son is crazy about football and keeps bugging me to take him to an A&M game. I'm not getting extravagant here, I'm just thinking about getting two seats.

Texas A&M has been dead since rancidroni drove it into the ground! So many great Texas High School players end up in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and A&M has a horrible recruiting staff!!!
It is especially embarrasing, until I compare it to Indiana University! I think that is a team A&M could beat!!! :-)
