is it too soon for jewelry? Women always like that.

Never get stuff for the kitchen.

What's your price range?

I once bought my girlfriend a meat tenderizer and cutting board for her birthday.

This was right after she asked if I minded if she came over to cook for me once in a while... So I thought it was a good gift....

Nevertheless, she married me a couple of years later, despite the meat tenderizer and cutting board.

16 years later, my wife and I still laugh about that one.

As for a gift for your girlfriend -- I wouldn't do the meat tenderizer / cutting board route. Maybe tickets to a play or something like Cirque Du Soleil, or even reservations to a fancy restaurant in town would work. Go for something a little different.

Here's the scoop.
She's turning 43, successful, very attractive.
Just like the rest of us, anything she wants she has.
She makes her own jewelry, and is very pick in her tastes, so no.
Nothing for the kitchen.
She does like gadgets, rollerblading, skiing, working out, ipods, blackberrys, outdoors, and of course ........
Budget. A couple hundred bucks?

How old is she? How long have you guys been dating?

As always, a pic would be very inspirational

If I posted her pic she would be my x-gf.

Best birthday I did was about 25 small presents all wrapped and put around the (decorated) living room. None were very expensive, just little things I thought she'd like. She had a lot of fun opening them.

I still hear from her that was her favorite birthday.

Good luck

Charles

Sounds like the best gift is one that is non material...

So what does she like to do.. or what do you like to do that she may enjoy...?

The gift of time/ experiences etc is one that could work well...

So does she like fast cars....track day in a nice car (not yours that she may be afraid to drive it like she stole it).. an organised 'personal guide etc' outdoor activity for the day...

I gave my better half a two day Classic rally ticket once... what a hoot...we still laugh about it..... sure it cost a lot but the memories far outweigh that..

She is very particular with her clothes and my tastes suck.

She thinks Porsche's are pretentious and mine is too loud and red

Tonnes of shades already.

She had a plane that her x got.

B and B or tickets to something are great but she'll want intent gratification.

Seriously, though: personalization is the key. Take her to dinner and buy her some rollerblades or whatever,

but also do something that's really financially cheap but meaningful for the both of you. Make her a little scrapbook with pictures or take her to someplace that's meaningful for the both of you and sing her a song or something. Chicks love crap like that.

Go to the local mall and walk around. A CD or two, a DvD you'd both enjoy, removable tattoos, one of those 8 balls that predicts the future, a board game you might both enjoy, a key ring, a sweater, sweatshirt, T shirt or some (appropriate) article of clothing, etc, etc. are some things that come to mind.

Just let your imagination go wild. The more varied the better. Have fun.

Yes personalization is the key.

She has the best rollerblades already.

I wish I could sing, she plays the drums.
