Beat me to it...

When I was a kid my dad would rent a beach house on Balboa island (those were the days) and I'm pretty sure there were at least two converted PT boats that rich guys were using as hot rod cruisers.

And yes it was awesome to hear those engines when they fired them up... especially if we were in the water swimming around at the time.

And no my dad wasn't rich and he is a pretty frugal man so I can only assume renting a house on Balboa island was very affordable back then.

Sorry for the thread hijack.

I know... we could repel them with a fleet of hovercraft's! ;)

Based on the stealthy IPS-16 “Peykaap” Fast Attack torpedo Craft, this new type is less stealthy but has two "Kowsar" short range missiles in addition to two lightweight torpedoes.

Just to add some background. Iranian navy imported 10 "Peykaap" class boats from North Korea along with 10 slightly larger "Tir" class and a couple of semi-submergible boats. Iran has since begun local manufacture and even exported the Tir class to Syria (assuming Syria didn't get them direct from DPRK).

This new design is based on the Paykeep but with two light "Kowsar" missiles added, and many other design changes.

No, no, no... Balboa Island Calif. in Newport beach now the home of the uber rich and multi-million dollar yachts... matter of fact you would probably like it Kach.

Can't imagine swimming in the channel now a days, water is polluted and it is so crowded you would likely get run over.
