A very low mile (less than 40K miles), very nice C2S sold on eBay in the last couple of weeks for around $35K.
|
Looks like a really nice car but not a garage queen. With collectible cars, they have to be in showroom condition to pull the $$. Porsche sold a fair number of these cars, so they're out there and will be for a while. This car would be perfect for me if I were in the market, it has all of the really expensive and desirable mods like PSS9 coil-overs and those BBS wheels. It just seems like a car with a lot of track time on it, which does not ruin these cars by any means but greatly reduces their resale.
|
a "fair" number is nine hundred ninety three C2S's produced. Pretty rare IMO. But don't beat me up over it!;)
|
The C4Ss still sell for 45k+. Pretty ridiculous. I'll take a 996TT, thanks.
|
I'd much rather have a C2S than a C4S. 4-wheel drive and a bunch of extra weight + mechanical complication is the last thing you need in a sports car.

Mike Willhoit bought it, then put it back on eBay the next week with a $49k "Buy it now". It is already up to $43k, with a day to go: |
It's not "up to $43k", that's his starting point and no one has bid on it.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see if it gets any bids (I'm sure it will be relisted). He usually has a few nice low mileage cars in his rotation, but way overpriced (IMO), including a few other low-mileage C2/4 S cars that were north of $60k. |

Nice low-mileage car, but $80k? Yeah... |
Although not a real C2S, my car is every bit as nice as that one, same mileage and I will never sell it. So I don't care what they're going for.

There was a 993 cab that was for sale at a local Land Rover dealership last month. I drive by the dealership on my way home from work. I never stopped by to actually take a closer look at the car, but noticed it sitting there for a couple weeks at $36K. Then it got dropped to $29K before it finally went away.

IIRC, around 75 grand?
|
IMO, that is too many miles on a '98. Also the PSS9's and new windshield scream "TRACK" to me so how much extra wear and tear is there on this car. And no mention of history/records.
I'd do a PPI and love it. . . At $32,500. |
