I have been to the Great American Beer Festival in Denver the past 3 years.
It's an amazing experience to walk the aisles and sample from over 1900 beers!! Just thought I'd mention it as there are many beer lovers here. |
I hear great things about Steinlager (NZ), but haven't been able to find it locally.
http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u...Steinlager.jpg I like Yuengling, Smithwick's, Guinness, Beamish, Warsteiner, and American Ale by Budweiser. |
shiner bock is tasty. still only have sam oktoberfest and some odball stuff from my beer of the month club in the fridge. and a few nz cab. sauvs (different thread i guess).

There are some great beers posted here. It's sad when people don't like good beer - Spaten Optimator is one of the real greats, and so is Sam Smiths.
BUt I gotta say -- Beer in a Bottle is always second best. The best beer is always gonna be pumped fresh out of the cask. |
WARSTEINER !!!! the BEST beer ever.
|
I found this when I was in the beverage store this evening. A lot like OOd Rasputin but less of a bite, perhaps smoother. Quite a chocolate and coffee flavor though.

This is what we were drinking last night. Could be one of the best beers I have ever had.

Good luck finding Scuttlebutt outside of Western Washington. If you are in the area, their brewery is right next to the Navy base in Everett. (It's close enough for you to walk back to the boat so you don't have to drive.) Another great alternative is the Diamond Knot Brewery in Mukilteo. AWESOME IPA!

Used to drink this in the local pub when back in the UK. Had a really great taste, but unfortunately I've never seen it for sale here:(

Heel n Toe you would probably like the Steinlager. IIRC it's a somewhat hoppy pilsner. I personally prefer the Yuengalingadingdangdong (why can't i spell that?) 'cause it's got a hint of 'sittin' on the porch eatin' crabs in Dundalk hon' domestic beer flavor to it.
|
daily beer of choice would be Guinness. For a more special treat, I'll second the vote for just about anything made by Samuel Smith. Rogue makes some pretty good microbrews too. at our winter ale fest - the best I tasted (out of the 16 or so I tried) was Firestone Walker's Velvet Merkin Stout.
