I was at the Oberoi-Trident 6 months ago.
I have had a knot in my stomach since these attacks in India began. We stayed at the Trident this past spring. Had dinner at the Oberoi. Took the train out of the Chhatrapati Shivaji station.
We were also in Jaipur, in the same markets that were bombed this past summer. The bastards were singling out Americans/Brits/Jews...... Northern Pakistan has obviously become one of the worlds biggest havens for terrorists. Military action is needed. I'm holding my breath to see what the Indians do. My wife is flying to India tonight. Her mother died yesterday. We are going as a family in Feb. to a wedding. We go to the north, around New Delhi, which tends to be more secure, but its still nerve wracking. |

I am sorry to hear about your wife's mother.
I am surprised that no one has started a thread on the ongoing Mumbai situation. Scary stuff. India is of course blaming Pakistan. Israel will blame the fundamentalists. The west will try to link it to Al Queda like they do at every whiff of terrorism. And the BBC is reporting some possible UK links. But who knows right now? Ian
