A New Meaning for I'm gona stick this knife down your throat and its gona hurt

On Thursday last I went to the DDS as one of my teeth started hurting..the prognoise was a ROOOOT CANALLLL.....Ohhhh boy what joy....So on Tuesday went in to the Endodentist and he concured yep a Roooty Toooty Canal is what ya need.... So knowing that the guy had a CD player fer ya to listen to while he drills and files away....I brought my own CD....THe Stones...Get Yer YA YAs Out...the opening line of the album is...."Is everybody ready." Fk NO....

So he juiced up the tooth and rooof of the mouth real good with F...O..U..Rrrr shots of feel no pain juice and for the next 1 1/2 hours proceeded to cause me copnsiderable anxiety about the possibility of lighting me up like a christmas tree.

Well he found 3 Rooot Canals in the molar, and cleaned them out....ther is still the possibility of there being a fourth???? Coming off the juice was worst then I remembered...lots of soreness and pain...actually worse than the proceedure..no or very little pain with hot or cold, but to bite down whoops...that hurts...but it is 100% better than yesterday....can you say mushy food...

You need a dentist who prescribes better meds.

you ain't felt nothin 'til you have an abcess that totally blocks the novacaine effect and you have to bear the pain of four roots getting reamed cold turkey.

I just had 2 extractions & a bone graft done on monday.
There was not enough bone to install the stud for the implant, so i have to go back in 4 months to do it again.
I had the consious sedation method done, as i have no desire to be awake for that ordeal.
I don't remember anything from laying back in the chair until the next morning.
For all i know the dental asst could have felt me up (but that would have been OK, she was hot)
The most pain is from the areas that had the injections.
can you say "vicodin"???

Early last May I was eating a salad and broke a tooth...I knew immeiadiatily that the tooth was done for...sure nough....however it took until the end of June to get into the Implant Denist..I had a previous tooth that was extracted after biting down on a Kalmata Olive (wt pit). So for that one they needed to do a sinus lift...all told about $6500...

While waiting for the appointment the broken tooth really didn't hurt much, as it was pretty stable..but OHHHHH BOY when it did it was about 15 minutes of agony...the bright side was I lost about 6 pounds...(That DDS is rated as one of the best in LV, and is booked solid) The thinking was to do it all at once...

Anyway I dreaded the implant surgery...once after being out I felt a far away pain and thought I'll moan to let him know..they then turned up the gas and the next thing I remember is them getting me up and walking me to the front desk where I saw a wheelchair...and thought "ohhh thats nice, I think I will need that"...the next thing I really remember is waking up in my reclining chair at home...

Surprise surprise I FELT NO PAIN DURING OR AFTER THE IMPLANT SURGERY...only a bit of sorness due to the stiches after a week.

Fast forward...today the tooth is MUCH better...hardly anything...YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

However this week the DDS has done the impressions for the implant crowns...another $3300......Geezus...

It is expensive but permanent..

I've had 4 root canals last year and none hurt whatsoever, not even a little bit. It's at the point where I'd prefer having a root canal than attending my company's quarterly meetings...
Modern dentistry is amazing.... Get a better specialist I guess ! No reason for pain...

Sounds like your dentist is a wee bit of a crook. My dad just had a crown done and it came in just shy of 900 total.

A Crown on a tooth is not an IMPLANT CROWN....I just had a CROWN on a tooth and it was $982.

Give or take a bit for the town...if ya want cheap go to MEXICO>..however beware of it falling out...

I talked to my old Dentist in CA before I had the implant...he is pretty reasonable (friend of mines MIL had a couple of Implants done and he was considerably cheaper then the competitiion)....the prices he would charge and what I was charged was very comparable across a broad spectrum of services. .
