ok, maybe my most difficult meal to eat.

ok, we decided on a few meals to do as the locals do:

here are some memorable meals from my vacation.
deep fried tarantula. most of it tasted decent. the large body part..thorax?? tasted livery.

steamed wasp nest. you dig for the larvae. my nest had adults. it was gross. sorry for the fuzzy photo..i was shaking. tasted like rotten newspaper. the larvae tasted like fishy steamed eggs

other meals included (in the other camera, not downloaded yet)
a rhino beetle, meal worms, crickets, ants.. wait till you see the rhino beetle. it was golf ball sized.

stuff i looked for but didnt find were ant eggs and bbq rats...

i had to down lots of these for courage:

My hats off to ya! I consider myself an adventureous eater....but....I would have to seriously think about some of that you have pictured there.
The show Man vs. Wild comes to mind.

what stopped me cold was DOG meat. i peeked in and saw all the scared dogs in tiny cages.. the guys looked like they were going to kick my butt if i took out my camera. i walked out casual. it smelled good.

the snake heart was a no-go. my rule was that it had to be cooked. they eat the heart straight out of the snake.

You guys gotta watch "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern" on the Travel Channel. That dood eats way weird stuff; still beating hearts, brains, etc.....

No friggin way. Insta-vomit for me. You've got your own reality show there.

Yep, my love of sashimi, snails, and squid (which usually gross out my dining companions) makes me think I'm adventurous. Clearly we are in different classes of "adventurous".

I'm with Terry. No way!

The only bugs I eat, are the ones that fly into my mouth while rollerblading.
