Ah! A traditional Christmas!
Nowadays its all bling-bling and hysterical, overinflated shopping. |
Well, now I know not to open this post again!
|
Isa must be in one of those moods. :p
|
Isa, what was the point you were trying to make? This is not typical of your usual posts. You do realize these are pictures of people who suffered through the depression?

Wow! Things must be really bleak in the states if you guys have lost your sense of humour and can't even laugh anymore:(
I'm just at home on my own and bored, the husband person is away on a business trip. He seems to have one of these most months;) |
I guess what's not funny about those pics w/captions is that the people depicted actually did go through a lot of suffering. You wouldn't laugh at a skinny concentration camp prisoner or soldier about to go into battle and make flip comments. It's in the same vein.

Thanks...hey, I thought it was funny, and with my current mood, nothing seems funny...
(edit) I took it as a funny reminder that despite all the "depression" hype being touted by our media, things really aren't all that bad...not yet, anyway. |

And the humour is that we are seeing some hard times and likely to be facing some very hard times as well, so the captions are poignant. |
I'm not sure anyone (but those in the pix) can say whether they are pix from the depression era or just in rural towns that that looked like the depression era.
