is there a decent market for older german photo stuff?

i dont use my old hasselblad camera anymore. i have a 150mm portrait lens with the thing, and various eyepieces. just letting those lenses sit is not the best for them.

another camera..i have a leica M6. anyone buying the film stuff anymore? i am seriously considering selling the stuff and picking up a leica M8 -digital. i have M-lenses so it is an easy transition. there is no substitute for a rangefinder camera IMO...the feel is amazing. the silent shutter is the best.

i could just keep and store everything and still buy the digital unit..i just dont want to be a hoarder.

cliff.

any good photographer forums that i can lurk on?

When my dad sold his Nikon film bodies, a guy in Japan was interested and bought it all. They seem to really like older good quality film cameras and are willing to pay. He threw the stuff up on Ebay.

Cliff, call the guys at Chrysler Camera Repair or Photo Tech or B&H photo, all here in NYC. There is definitely a market for anything that says "hasselblad" which is Swedish, made in Gotheberg (same as the Volvo factory). Ditto the Leica. Or ebay, certainly.

Don't sell the M6, years from now you'll regret it. I've got some old Nikon F bodies that I'll never let go of.

Wow! I knew they existed, but never looked at the price...
Hasselblad CF-22 Digital Back $17,165.45
And that's for the 22 megapixel version the 39 MP goes for $34,000.

old manual cameras

OK guys, in my past life I was a trained European camera technician. I loved the mechanical stuff and when the electronic **** came out, I sold my repair shop and moved on in life.
If you want to keep your stuff ( which I would) than please at least take the time and
play with the slow speeds timers and self timer from time to time. Those little timers in the shutter gum up and than it might be possible that the shutter is stuck and finding a repair man will be tough. Us old guys are dying off.
