Never really tried tequila before.

I bought some Jose Cuervo (the standard stuff) to try out yesterday. I love the warm feeling tequila gives you in the chest, but I woke up with a headache this morning and only had two drinks last night.

You mean "... for removing oil stains from the driveway...", right? I didn't think anyone drank that crap by choice.

tabs 12-07-2008 05:10 PM

The stuff does make good bore cleaner...especially that hard to remove lead fouling...

Reminds me of college....girls that drank tequila were easy pickens

My favorite hard liquor. I have a history with Sauza...long before all the recent trendy brands showed up on the market. Still my drink of choice, either sipping straight up or margarita rocks.

Tequila is not a liquor. It is a drug. But make mine Patrón Añejo.

Whatever I could find for $20 a bottle, locally made by artisans when I would head down to Nogales. There's some nice, handmade, local tequilas available, if you wander into the right bar/grill.

+1 on all of the above, and for those that aren't familiar w/ Jose's reserva, it AIN'T your barroom Cuervo at over $90 a bottle :). I also like Sauza, and lately Corazon is a good bang for the buck (40 bucks). For you who've only had the rot gut stuff of years gone by, give some of these a shot (literally). I'm not a big drinker, but do like to do a couple of 1/2 shots on occasion...typically, I go for the reposados.

Sauza Tres Generaciones straight

Jose Cuervo for margaritas, splash of orange juice is secret for good ones

+1, right out of the freezer, straight-up.

Cabo Wabo blanco when I can get it.

Patron anejo when not.

Same here. Gin and Vodka fall into that same class. Open a bottle of any of those in the same room with me and I'll probably puke. And it's been 30 years since any of them...

dabbled a tiny bit with mescal....bad stuff makes you want to remove your tongue... the good stuff is a different animal.

I pitty you, been there and done that.

One shot of good stuff (typically a short fat bottle with wood cap) will take the edge off the day and taste good.

It will taste too good mixed with mango juice, so don't get carried away.;)

Cazadores and Corralejo are both good and decent price. Tres Generaciones is a deal at Trader Joe's.
