Wife hit Deer Part 2, car is fixed, not Happy

The paint and finish are great, I am not happy with the RF fender to hood fit.
My new Euro RF headlight was marred:mad:
Just mask off the headlight while sanding:mad:

I'd take it back to the shop and calmly explain why you are not happy with the repair. I'd imagine any reputable shop would make an effort to correct the obvious errors.

That hood / fender is terrible and the shop will know it. No reason not to bring it back. Not sure who paid for this, but I would tell the insurance to hold payment, if that's possible / not too late.

The insurance company can't and won't stop payment on a draft for any reason. Even if the shop installed a hood to a mazda and painted it blue it's your problem and you'll need to address the problem thru the body shop.

You paid for the total? Credit card or check? Nothing gets the attention better than a stop payment. You must have seen this when you picked it up, no?

Good Luck!

That gap is criminal. Absolutely unacceptable.

Would it be acceptable with another make and model?? NotTTTT
Not even a ford, gm or a "C" model?

HardDrive 12-09-2008 09:20 PM

Its not acceptable on any make or model. I have a 1993 Ford F-150 with 238,000 miles on it. Back right quarter panel is bondo for the most part. But sadly, the hood fitment looks better than that photo.

That hood-to-fender is horrendous. No one could be proud of that work, totally unacceptable.

Yup is pretty bad... but I have to ask; why did you take it/ accept it from the shop in the first place if its that bad?

Every time I have had body work done I have 'snagged' the car in their shop before I even get my wallet out...they correct and represent for acceptance and payment.

They have screwed up.. but you have made it too easy for them to not do a damn thing.

onewhippedpuppy 12-10-2008 05:04 AM

Unacceptable. I'd get down there ASAP, if they don't cooperate stop payment on the check. If you used a card, call the company and see if they will reverse the charges.

Nice SEC by the way. I love those things.

I did not pick up the car, the body shop when the work was done took the car to another shop where I had A/C work done, I then picked the car up from the A/C shop when I discovered the shoddy work.

MFAFF 12-10-2008 06:24 AM

Ah....that explains it...

I hope you haven't paid for that work. If yes then you need to get it back and retain it until it meets your standards.

I think the bodyshop is in for a lot of pain as a result.

crustychief 12-10-2008 06:39 AM

Wow, didn't notice in the post from the other day so I looked at the pics again and.. there it is. I hope they do you right by fixing that at no charge. I am supposed to pick up my car today or tomorrow, I hope I don't overlook anything.
