And as an adult, it's preceded with "f##k" and followed with "again"...

Boohoo ya whiny Texans with a little dusting of white stuff. Are your streets utter chaos now? Ask the Vancouverites what they do in such panic situations.

just yankin' yer chain :)

Man, can you tell how much I hate winter? (and yes, I keep trying to convince my wife to move to California. I'd be there on a dime, if I could.)

Rick Lee 12-10-2008 05:32 PM

I get excited when I see rain in Phoenix like I used to get when I saw snow as a child. Last time I saw snow falling was in March driving through the TX panhandle. I never want to see it again except on top of a mountain.

red-beard 12-10-2008 05:37 PM

We were out for dinner and the big flakes in the street lights reminded me of being in NY and Massachusetts. Beautiful.

Still unusual. Hell has frozen over.

Snow down here is no joke. The roads in Dallas are built to withstand the summer heat which makes them absolutely horrendous in the rain. Snow? Might as well stay home.

When I was commuting from NY to here I had a different rental car every week so did not really notice.

I shipped the P car down and the first time I drove it in the rain was "enlightening" to say the least.

Tobra 12-10-2008 06:27 PM

It is supposed to be snowing 'til midnight in Cut'n'Shoot(by Conroe)

Stay home, burn your fireplace, there are a lot of people down there who never drove in snow and ice, careful on bridges, may be icy when road is dry

Rick, you sound like my mother when she left Nebraska, well that and complainign about not being able to get a residency in anything other than Pedi or Ob/Gyn in the state

Bill Douglas 12-10-2008 07:11 PM

Thank you God (all of the Gods actually) for never letting it snow where I live.

I just got back Sunday from a business trip to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada where it was -12 C. Then, on my way home last night it starts snowing on the Sam Houston tollway!!

I'd rather be in Moose Jaw where the inhabitants don't start plowing into one another when a single flake hits the asphalt!

Fortunately, I'm prepared for this horrific weather. I put insulation on my Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn Deluxe smoker.

Total tangent, but .........why? People always try to keep their VIN and tag number a secret online, but it's info that anyone in a parking lot could jot down in 10 seconds.

ruf-porsche 12-11-2008 07:26 AM

Seeing those pictures reminded me that "It's a Wonderful Life".

Snow tires (hehe).... We were passing through Jackson, MS just about an hour ago and the flakes are as big as silver dollars. Many cars off the Interstate (I55 just north of I20)...The elevaed portions close to downtown were quite dicey for many folks. Hope it gets better the closer to home...Starting to change from snow/sleet to just a peppery ice mix right now.

snow tires are NOT for sale in my world,
these folks cannot drive in the rain..
they closed the loop (circles SA.) this means NOTHING as folks just drive around them..

makes it much easier to find the car. If they see it online, and need those wheels, or that hood, it is a snap to track it down. I have little faith in the human animal

The only people in Louisiana who know how to drive in the snow talk kinda funny

afterburn 549 12-11-2008 11:40 AM
