New Work Ride!!!!
OK I know some people put this in the Tech Forums, but I feel it is better over here..
We got her in service about 2 months ago and are still fine tuning where all the stuff goes.. Most of the time I am "STUCK" (poor me) in the time out box on the rear..Talk about a fun time...:D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1229393844.jpg |
That's awesome! What's the HP/Weight on that thing?
|
It is just under 60' bumper to bumper. Running a 515 horse Detroit Diesel Series 60 with Allison 5 speed Auto. Has 100' reach. She'll run 70 and feels like 40... Smoooooottthhh riding. Weighs around 60K if I remember what they said....Price .....lets just say you could get a couple 959's and a Carrera GT for what this thing cost..
Oh yea we can make a U-Turn on a 4 lane road... |
That is bad to the bone!
The ultimate man toy! I love Firetrucks as much as when I was a kid I bet the back is the place to be.:D |
Who built it?
I see some of my employers D-Ring handles on the pan doors. Too bad they used the crummy R-O-M roll-up doors you'll find that they will be a maintenance nightmare, there are much better doors that could have been installed! Nice piece! |
It is a Piece Quantum cab and yes the rear is the e-ticket ride especially when the front driver takes the corners a little too quick...like sitting in the rear of a roller coaster.. Gotta have fast hands to keep up with a couple of the fellas up front..

Sitting in the tiller bucket is a blast!!! A real E ticket ride, the hardest part is when you have to help back, it throws you off at first. Every time i watch this video i smile because i am blessed to do what i do, and it reminds me how much i LOVE my job!!!! |
Beautiful machines.
|
can you take it home like i do with mine?
|
It needs spinners.
|
VINMAN is this you guys first mid mount? We have an ALF mid mount in our city and that rear overhang takes a while to get used to..not good for tight quarters..
svandamme it might be hard to take it home as it takes two to drive...besides I think the citizens might get a little upset because it is manned 24/7.. These things are the originators of the 22's (well actually 22.5) ...We had a custom rim shop in my old run area and the guy said he could put spinners on the rims...UUUHHH No thanks... |
Yeah, its our first mid-mount. You're right ,That overhang it a beotch to get used to! We have 10ft wide doors on our bays. We had to put a mark on our apron, where the front bumper has to be before you turn the wheel. Otherwise you will take out the door jamb with the bucket.:D That thing swings real wide. I think it kicks out 6 1/2 ft at full steering wheel lock. Has a super tight turning radius though.

how many times a week do you get flashed?
|
| All times are GMT -8. The time now is 06:41 AM. |
