I don't have any black friends and I don't know why.
 

I have Asian friends. I have Caucasian fiends. I have latino friends. I have Indian friends. I have one muslim friend. I don't have any black friends and I don't know why. I think I only know three black guys, two live hundreds of miles away, the third lives in a penitentiary and he was a HS friend. I know no other black people and I live in a very diverse area (SF).

I have a couple of hundred customers and none of them are black which I find really odd. I just don't seem to spend any time in places where there are black people I'd have something in common with. I don't think I'm prejudiced against blacks. As a matter of fact, I think I am at a disadvantage because I don't have any black friends.

Anyone else? Don't flame me, I am being sincere.

Go to Oakland, eat Ethiopian or caribbean food. You'll meet some black folk.

Middle/Upper class black folks are more common on the east coast, and midwestern citys like Chicago. I run into very few black professionals out here in Seattle, at least as compared to the east.

Me thinks you over-analyze, who really cares? Unless you avoid black people altogether, then you need to come to terms with the fact that you really don't like black people.;) I never really give it a thought because I don't think of the black friends over the years as being any different than I.

LOL, my best friend since the early 70's is black, and he makes me look like a flaming liberal. He's also allot more financially successful than I am. Go figure.

I'm from Oakland but I've moved to the East Bay suburbs. One of my close friends is black. When he finds himself in a tight spot, he calls me first. I respect and admire him tremendously, but... despite the fact that both he and his wife are extremely well educated and make their living in the lily white suburbs, his wife insists that they live in Oakland with "their people". Seriously. Culturally, these people are whiter than I am. They are certainly more cultured and refined.

Despite having a close professional relationship and strong friendship, I have never met his wife. She has avoided social invitations for 10 years. I've given up trying to include her. I'll go to ballgames with my friend and spend hours with him at the hospital, but his wife prefers to socialize with "her people". Oh well...

years back i started dating this girl from eritrea. she was nice. but it didn't work out. i do not have a preference for blacks. but i've always found that the current girlfriend is the one who introduces me to the next girlfriend. i got in that circle, and five years went by. now people point at me as i walk down the street and whisper "jungle fever".
