I'm Still Alive!
Recently, a couple Pelicaners have emailed me wondering about my whereabouts. Don't worry, I'm still around, I've just bit off WAY more than I can chew this year. I have been teaching 10th Grade English, working on a 2nd Master's Degree, occasionally tending bar (mostly for the social life), and editing the 2nd book (due out in spring!).
The 951 is currently immobile. It needs a new clutch. I am planning on having it back on the road for warm weather (needless to say, I have a long way to go). So, yeah, I'm still around. I'll try to make more of a concerted effort to lurk on PPOT from now on. |
Difficult to skip posting incognito here. The Pelican surveillance is top quality. Tech birds looking after each other. Glad to see you are still here. Happy Holidays!

What kind of book? I missed this.

The first book, "OUR ORWELL, RIGHT OR LEFT" is about how Orwell's work has been used as political propaganda, and, in a larger sense, about the intersection between politics and art in general. This came out in June and is available on Amazon.com.
The new book, "OLD GHOSTS OF NEW ENGLAND," is a travel guide to haunted places in New England (I know, very different subjects). It will be available in the spring from every major bookseller. I am also in the process of collaborating on a book on "what they don't teach you in school" about history, but this project has been slow getting off the ground. Some of my fiction is also being considered by McSweeney's, but that's a big "we'll see." |

So I take it that it is a bust on the insurance policy I took out you....

In your new book do include the Montpellier Inn in VT. I had a run in with that ghost...I think I scared her as much as she scared me...as I couldn't get her to come out again. I said BOOOO and she ran down the hall.
