Keep a pair of tongs handy for your buddy when nature calls :D

:D Reminds me of the time I was cooking fish in a frying pan in the oven. I took the fish out with an oven mitt to see if it was done... Then proceeded to put the pan back in the oven without the mitt. It was a natural reaction because the pan had a handle. About halfway there I realized my hand was burning, but I didn't want to drop my fish so I put it in the oven really quickly. I then ran to the sink. By the time I had let go of the pan the pain was gone! Apparently I melted the skin and the nerves with it. :( I'm not the brightest.

Got really lucky when I was a kid working at a fast food joint. Had been scooping ice out of the ice bin to clean it out and my arm was soaked from digging down there. Finished and went on to something else. Leaning over near the fry-o-lator, my wet hand slipped and my arm plunged past my elbow into the 335 degree oil. I jerked it out in a hurry, turned around, and plunged my entire arm into the trash can that was now full of ice.
Never felt a thing, never had so much as a blister. Definitely went thru one of my 9 lives. |
