Depends on what your looking for. $250-350,000 will buy a very nice place, especially now. Prices really vary with the part of town. I've got a little over 2400sq ft opposite side of town from Yasin and Fort Carson, and closer to the Air Force Academy. Older development (1981) and smaller homes, (no 3 car garage) but I figure the place is still worth 210-220. I'll see if I can get some pic's loaded.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230070358.jpg The first shot is my home the second is looking west towards Pikes Peak. the second home is a little over 2800 sq ft and around 250 in todays market, in our neighborhood. Nice thing about the older subdivisions is the size of the lots. I've got almost a 1/4 acre (11,000 square ft) Yasin's area is also very nice with lots of the ranch style homes Regards Karl 88 Targa |

I love the outdoors, as far as mountains and snow and even some hunting, and basically everything that's in the Colorado area. I really think I'm going to love it up there. Who knows, maybe I'll find a good deal on a house and buy one.

SWEET!!! |
Let me just tell you....
I lived in Colorado Springs (as well as small surrounding mountain towns - Woodland Park, Divide) for 8 years (1992 - 2000). I have been gone for 8 years now, and I think about moving back every single day! It just felt like home to me. The small-medium sized downtown was just right. Good food and drink, quaint bookstores, Colorado College, etc.. I worked at MCI (now Verizon) at Garden of the Gods. I could literally look out the window of my office and see Big Horn Sheep eating the grass on the medians in the parking lot!!! Every day I drove home up U.S. 24 along the side of Pike's Peak. Every day felt like vacation. About an hour and a half from my front door to the base at Breckenridge! Gold Medal trout fishing within 30 minute drive. Pike National Forest is a MILLION acre playground, just 15 minutes away. World class mountain biking and hiking literally around EVERY corner. Some of the best microbreweries in the world - I love Bristol and Phantom Canyon, both still there. I WILL move back at some point, or at least to Denver. Can you tell I recommend it? Best, JA |
